Annual IITF opens; 1.4 mn visitors to throng Pragati Maidan

New Delhi, Nov 14(PTI) The annual India International Trade Fair (IITF) opened here today, with products from all over the world on exhibition and sale to 1.4 million visitors expected to visit the fortnight long fair at the Pragati Maidan in central Delhi. The fair, inaugurated by India's Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, will be reserved for the business visitors during the first five days and will be open to the general public from November 19 to 27, according to its sponsor India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). Inaugurating the fair, Mukherjee said while the Indian exports have performed well this year, "If the Eurozone crisis prolongs, growth in exports will be impacted". Over 6,000 exhibitors from India and overseas countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Thailand, China are showcasing their products at the fair. Diverse handicrafts from across the country will add to the theme of this year's fair 'Indian Handicrafts - the magic of the gifted hands'. PTI
