Azerbaijan, Latvia expand economic cooperation

Riga, May 30, AZERTAC Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Parliament Ogtay Asadov has met Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Economics of Latvia Arvils Ašeradens. The Latvian Deputy Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Ogtay Asadov on the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan. He praised bilateral relations, and stressed the importance of further expansion of economic bonds. The Deputy Premier emphasized the significance of comprehensive use of current potential for deepening cooperation between the two countries. Ogtay Asadov said mutual understanding and friendship lie at the heart or the ties. “Intergovernmental Commission plays an important role in expanding economic ties.” Arvils Ašeradens said upcoming visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Latvia will make a significant contribution to strengthening cooperation between the two countries. On Azerbaijan`s economic partnership with EU, Mr. Asadov highlighted the country`s achievements, as well as its potential and infrastructure projects.
