BAAC consoles southern customers who hit by flood

BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) -- Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives or BAAC has recently informed its customers in the Thai south not to worry about their debts as the bank is willing to extend the period for loan payments. BAAC President Luck Wajananawat said after the southern region has been hit with severe flooding, that he has ordered the local offices to immediately provided assistance and moral support to flood victims by presenting them with survival kits as 21.5 million baht was spent for the relief packages. Mr Luck also said the agriculturists not to worry about their loan payments to the bank, adding that if their crops and produce are damaged by the current flooding, the bank is ready to give an extension to help relieve their burden. He stressed that once the flood water starts to recede the bank would then inspect the damages caused by the natural disaster to evaluate the overall effects, noting that all crops planted in the region should not be harshly affected by the flood.
