BAC issues tender for car rental companies

Manama, June 6 (BNA): Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the operator and managing body of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), issued a new tender inviting world-class local, regional, and international car rental companies wishing to manage and operate car rental outlets at the new Passenger Terminal Building. There are 12 units available, with a total area of 130 square meters, located in the Arrivals area. In keeping with the principles of its commercial strategy to ‘excel in business partnerships’, BAC is inviting bids from suitably qualified and experienced owners and operators of leading companies. Successful bidders will propose the best and most dynamic services, offering the latest concepts and innovative, customer-driven initiatives. “Having the right tenants and service providers in place is essential to meet the objectives of the Airport Modernisation Programme (AMP) and the needs of passengers travelling through BIA. The car rental concession will play an important role by providing business and leisure visitors with a wide range of convenient and cost-effective ways to reach their final destination once they land Bahrain. The new Passenger Terminal Building will increase the airport’s throughput capacity from 8.5 to 14 million passengers a year, which gives car rental companies operating on-site the opportunity to reach a greater number of potential customers,” BAC’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Ayman Zainal said. The deadline for proposal submissions is on June 27. All submissions that meet the criteria will undergo a technical and financial evaluation process to select the best proposals.
