BAE Systems Signs MoU With CTRM For Technology Transfer

KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- BAE Systems today signed a memorandum of understanding with Composites Technology Research Malaysia Systems Integration (CTRM) Sdn Bhd, to identify potential industrial collaboration for the development of systems integration capabilities and technology transfer. In a statement here on Thursday, the company said the collaboration would provide opportunity for CTRM to develop its systems integration capabilities, in line with the objectives set out in the Economic Transformation Programme (ETP). It will also ensure high-end systems integration capability to provide systems integration services to the Ministry of Defence and other potential customers, said the company. In a separate statement, BAE Systems also announced that its Australian security subsidiary, Stratsec, has became the first Malaysia-based member of the Microsoft SDL (Security Development Lifecycle) Pro Network. Microsoft's SDL, which was established in 2004 is the industry-leading software security assurance process intended to reduce the number and severity of vulnerabilities in software products. The SDL Pro Network is a group of security consultants, training companies, and tool providers that specialises in application security and have substantial experience and expertise with the methodology and technologies of Microsoft's SDL. Stratsec's chief executive officer, Peter Lilley, said being part of the SDL Pro Network would give the company access to the expertise, processes and tools within Microsoft and help them develop secure applications. --BERNAMA
