Baku to become center of new international organization

Azerbaijan, Baku, 25 April / Trend, A. Akhundov / Baku will become the center of a new international organization to be set up by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which will deal with issues related to labor and employment in member countries of the OIC, the head of the International Relations Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Azerbaijan Khalig Ilyasov told journalists on Thursday. According to him, the agreement on the establishment of this new organization with headquarters in Baku was reached during a meeting with the OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin İhsanoğlu in Baku. "The new organization will focus on the development of common professional and safety standards, standards for compliance with labor and defining disability benefits. The organization will adopt a convention to be joined by all countries of the Islamic world. The name of the organization has not yet been determined yet, however, it will be created during Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Committee on Labour and Social Protection of the OIC during the next two years," Ilyasov said. The creation of a new organization will be reflected in the Baku framework document, which will be adopted on Friday after a meeting of the Ministers of Labour and Social Security of the OIC member countries held in the capital of Azerbaijan.
