BCCI discusses strengthening economic relations with Russia

Manama, May 17 (BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI)’s Chairman Samir Abdullah Nass received Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Igor Kremnev. The chairman stressed the importance of activating and developing joint Bahraini-Russian economic and investment relations in various fields and levels, praising the distinguished bilateral and economic relations and its impact on promoting trade, investments and partnerships. He noted the keenness of the Bahraini business community and its continuous quest to explore opportunities with its Russian counterparts, calling on Russian business owners and investors to take advantage of opportunities in the promising sectors in the Kingdom, such as tourism, to establish more partnerships that serve the economies of the two friendly countries. Nass noted the need to invest and develop bilateral relations to advance economic relations and raise them to the levels that business owners aspire to on both sides. BCCI chairman affirmed that the chamber will spare no effort to develop economic relations and increase the growth of trade exchanges between the two countries and to overcome the various obstacles facing this. He praised the results of the last BCCI’s visit to Russia in August 2021, which confirms the insistence of the two sides to communicate more to achieve goals that serve the interests of the business community in both countries. BCCI’s First Vice-Chairman Khaled Muhammad Najibi stressed the strength and durability of the Bahraini-Russian economic relations and the importance of strengthening them. Najibi pointed out to the promising opportunities in the areas of food, tourism and real estate security, stressing the sincere desire of officials to deepen economic cooperation and promote common interests aimed at increasing trade growth between Bahrain and Russia. The first vice chairman stressed that Bahrain will be a center for the redistribution of Russian products in the GCC , Arab countries and North Africa, highlighting that the Kingdom enjoys an important geographical location as an international commercial meeting point, and trained academic expertise in all areas of commercial work, and the facilities and incentives it provides to investors. The meeting discussed visions and recommendations aimed at strengthening and developing the volume of trade exchanges between the two countries. It highlighted intensifying the exchange of visits between economic delegations, and the establishment of various joint activities to introduce the available investment opportunities. The ambassador expressed his appreciation for BCCI’s active role in empowering Bahraini private sector, and its effective efforts to develop economic partnership between Bahrain and Russia. The two countries are seeking to explore more investment opportunities available in preparation for the establishment of promising Bahraini-Russian investment projects that will benefit the two friendly countries.
