BHB, INJAZ Bahrain sign MoU on "Smart Investor" Programme

Manama, Apr. 25 (BNA): Bahrain Bourse (BHB) & INJAZ Bahrain today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance joint cooperation between the two parties, and to specifically deliver a specialized business-educational program "Smart Investor" targeted towards elementary-level students to educate and empower them with basic financial literacy concepts.  The agreement was signed by Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Bourse Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa and the Executive Director of INJAZ Bahrain Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa at Bahrain Bourse’s premises with the attendance of the Executive Management of BHB and INJAZ Bahrain. Based on the MoU, Bahrain Bourse in cooperation with INJAZ Bahrain will deliver and implement the Smart Investor Program during the new academic year 2018-2019 by penetrating all primary government schools, to have approximately 5,000 students of grade 4 benefiting from the program on an annual basis. On this occasion, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ebrahim Al-Khalifa said, "We are pleased to partner with INJAZ Bahrain given its experience in training students and educating them with financial literacy concepts going in line with the objectives of the program in particular and Bahrain Bourse’s strategy in general that aims at spreading investment awareness across all age groups in the Kingdom of Bahrain."  Her Highness Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al-Khalifa commented, "This MoU contributes to developing students’ financial literacy skills and equips them to be more empowered to take on-board financial decision making as well as practical investment & saving skills."  The Smart Investor program aims to introduce to students the concept of smart investing, saving, and planning for their financial future through hands on learning & interactive activities. Some of the topics covered during the sessions include: how to use ATM machines, earning money from various resources, financial services offered through banks, and how to be empowered for financial decision making.  INJAZ Bahrain is a non-profit organization that was established in 2005 as part of Junior Achievement Worldwide with the aim of empowering young people to own their economic success and be prepared for today's business challenges. INJAZ Bahrain works with Ministry of Education in over 200 secondary, intermediate and primary schools, and 12 Universities with the support of a network of 5,000 corporate volunteers who implement a series of business and entrepreneurship programs that reach over 30,000 students annually through 15 economic based programs.
