Cityscape Qatar 2013 Concludes

Doha, May 29 (QNA) - The three-day Cityscape Qatar 2013 exhibition concluded on Wednesday with both attendance and transactions far exceeding expectations. Exhibitors, guests and officials who attended the largest real estate investment and development event in Qatar were highly impressed with the diversified projects, industry focus and strong participation at the exhibition. Deep Marwaha, Group Director, Informa Exhibitions thanked all who contributed to the overwhelming success of the event, adding that:" It is clear that the growing importance of the real estate sector in Qatar is having a visible impact throughout the country, and this has certainly translated into success for Cityscape Qatar." The exhibition featured nearly 100 companies, including some of the biggest Qatari developers and investors along with other industry leaders, such as Mazaya Qatar Real Estate Development, Qatari Diar, Barwa Group, Ezdan Real Estate, and the United Development Company. Cityscape Qatar also welcomed major regional and international developers, project management specialists and service providers. High visitor numbers were complimented by strong international media attendance. During the exhibition, Mazaya Qatar announced that the company has already started the development of Marina Mall, a QR1 billion shopping centre in Lusail. Marina Mall, upon completion, is destined to be among the premier malls in Qatar and the Gulf region; the project will extend over an area of 57,605m? and will face the New Marina and Yacht Club at Lusail. Marina Mall will enjoy direct views over the Marina Waterfront and will feature state of the art designs and stylish architecture. The company also announced that it has completed 55% of the construction project, Sidra Housing, owned by Qatar Foundation, which is considered one of the largest residential projects, including 1165 residential units. The project will be delivered before the end of this year. Barwa Real Estate presented several flagship projects at the event. The highlight was the Oryx Island, a pedestrian-only integrated development featuring luxury villas, an aqua park, and five floating hotels. A 250-hectare site is being envisioned as the Gulf Resort, featuring a natural harbour, three hotels and a shopping mall. The company also unveiled Dara, a residential development covering 176,000 sqm, located at Fox Hills; a part of Lusail City covering a total of 1.6m sqm. Ezdan Holding Group had an overwhelming participation at Cityscape 2013; The company announced new projects such as the VIP Village, the Smart villages, the Al Shamal Complex and Al Rayyan Towers. Ezdan focuses on local investment to support the expansion that Qatar is undergoing through; it has participated in an incredible amount of real estate development through the supply of thousands of accommodation units with rent rates available to all income earnings. Qatar Real Estate Summit, held alongside Cityscape Qatar 2013 attracted international speakers and market experts. The talks addressed the biggest challenges of the Qatar real estate market as well as key strategies to capitalize on the countrys booming real estate market to advance business and harness the potential of the fastest growing economy in the world. Over two days, the Qatar Real Estate Summit provided delegates with a well-rounded analysis of Qatars financial and real estate markets, including the economic outlook, government priorities, upcoming projects and major opportunities in various sectors. The summit included two specialized conference days, focusing on key market trends and booming market sectors, offering valuable market insight and up to date information on critical developments as well as over six networking opportunities providing unlimited potential to create new contacts and expand existing relations and more presentations than ever before offering exclusive learning potential and in-depth analysis of critical topics.
