Deputy prime-minister Umirzak Shukeyev business trip
KYZYLORDA, 25 July (Khabar) - A Government team headed by deputyprime-minister Umirzak Shukeyev is continuing its visit around the regions to discuss such questions as harvesting.
First of all, the deputy prime-minister visited the "Aluan-AS" rice farm in the Syrdarya district, one of 80 such enterprises in the region which includes 13 large plants.
This year, due to the drought, rice growing areas were cut to 12 thousand hectares.
Umirzak Shukeyev, deputy prime-minister, RK:- Due to a shallow period on the Syrdarya river, it is doubly important to provide all rice fields with water. We reacted to this with the regional authorities who cut the sown areas. The farms themselves are also taking appropriate measures in order to economize on water.
At the regional meeting, the deputy prime-minister discussed preparations for winter. 3 billion tenge has been allocated for the reconstruction of steam-boilers at a thermoelectric power station and two enterprises will be converted to a different fuel according to the regional head, Bolatbek Kuandykov.
With the help of investors, it is planned to construct a second gas turbine station which will provide Kyzylorda and its regions with energy.
