Doha Municipality, Tirana Municipality Sign Twinning Agreement

Doha, February 12 (QNA) - The Municipality of the city of Doha, and the Albanian have signed a twinning agreement aimed at promoting relations of fraternity and friendship and cooperation, and building close ties between the two cities. The agreement was signed by Doha Municipality director Mohamed Ahmed al-Sayed and Lulzim Basha, Mayor of Tirana City. Bases on the friendly relations existing between the two countries associated with the principles of the common cultural ties of cooperation and brotherhood and the belief in the importance of the role played by municipalities in the promotion of relations of fraternity and friendship and cooperation the two parties have agreed to exchange information, expertise and experience in various areas of the services provided by the cities of their inhabitants in the fields of control of the buildings and the issuance of building permits and business licenses; privatization of services provided by cities; the development of joint programs between the two cities to exchange experiences and training in the areas of construction, hygiene, education and waste recycling; the cooperation in the field of privatization of services provided by cities; the exchange of field visits to see the latest scientific developments and specialized training programs in the areas of the municipality. Under the agreement, the parties will bear the necessary foundations for the exchange of visits between the officials and staff of the two cities and the use of systems of training and development, as well as information exchange and training programs. Speaking on the occasion, Doha Municipality Director has expressed deep appreciation for the bilateral ties between the two countries, hoping that this twinning agreement would contribute significantly to a better cooperation. For his part, the Mayor of Tirana City underlined the bond of friendly relationship and cooperation enjoying with the Albanian people, and through this agreement reconfirmed the good relations between the municipalities and establishments in various fields.
