TEHRAN,Dec.15 (MNA)--Drilling oil wells at Iran’s South Pars gas field phases 9 and 10 will be completed by mid-February, the deputy director of the National Drilling Company of Iran stated. Mohammad-Reza Takaidi added that to date, 18 out of 24 planned oil wells have been put into operation. Development of the South Pars gas field phases 9 and 10 is aimed to produce 56 million cubic meters of sour gas, extract 80 thousand barrels of gas condensate and produce 400 tons of sulfur per day. Annual production of one million tons of ethane as feedstock for petrochemical units and 1.050 million tons of LPG for exports are among the other targets of the development plan. The South Pars gas field is shared by Iran and Qatar. The Iranian share, which is divided into 29 phases, has about 14 trillion cubic meters of gas, or about eight percent of the total world reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of liquefied natural gas resources.
