Dubai Internet City heads to the USA to promote entrepreneurship and innovation

Dubai (WAM): Managing Director of Dubai Internet City (DIC) and Dubai Outsource Zone ( DOZ ), is part of a trade delegation from the U.A.E. who recently visited the United States to discuss innovation with business leaders in Washington DC, San Francisco, Seattle and California. The delegation seeks to develop closer synergies between the USA and U.A.E. in business, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship.
During his trip, Majed participated in two panel sessions hosted by the U.S. - U.A.E. Business Council, alongside esteemed panellists Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson, Sharjah Investment & Development Authority, Saed Al Awadi, CEO, Dubai Exports, Yousif Al Mutawa, CIO, Dubai Ports World, and Dr. Abeed Alfeefi, Director of Foreign Trade & Export, Abu Dhabi Economic Development. The panel was moderated by Danny Sebright, President, U.S. - U.A.E. Business Council, a leading advocate for building commercial relationships and expanding business opportunities between the two countries.
The panel discussion provided a platform to promote entrepreneurship and innovation in the U.A.E., and highlighted the important role TECOM Investments has played in developing Dubai's knowledge economy as well as the numerous opportunities the organisation offers to business partners situated across its free zone business parks. During the session, Majed spoke about the growth of entrepreneurship and the start-up sector in the U.A.E. as well as the ways in which innovation hubs, such as the DIC initiative in5, have played in driving this growth.
Majed Al Suwaidi said: "The U.A.E. and U.S. share the vision that innovation and entrepreneurship are the engines of economic growth and a key component of the drive to diversify the economy to secure a prosperous future. Entrepreneurship in the U.A.E. is thriving, and, together with the U.A.E. government, Dubai Internet City is working towards facilitating synergies that foster innovation, growth and development.
