Enemy Plots To Put Pressure On Iranˈs Economy Controlled: President

Tehran, Feb 24, IRNA – Enemy plots to put pressure on Iranian economy is under control, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Saturday night. He made the remarks in a live TV interview with Iranian state TV. ˈAll internal and international developments have been considered in planning of the new Iranian yearˈs budget bill; enemy tried to use currency war for blowing the countryˈs economy but they should know that the Iranian economy is one of the biggest oneˈs in the world and the Iranian nation is incomparable in resisting foreign pressures in defense of its rights.ˈ President Ahmadinejad called for the Iranian nation to protect their solidarity towards enemy pressures and divisive plots. He added that government has plans to help people provide their daily life requirements. ˈRole of oil revenues as well as government spendings in the next Iranian calendarˈs budget bill have been decreased; government has plans to diversify its revenue sources; execution of the second phase of targeted subsidies plan as well as the raise of non-oil exports are some of the best ways for decreasing the oil revenues role in the countryˈs economy.ˈ Iranian officials have on repeated occasions reiterated that the US-led western sanctions on the country have influenced Iranˈs economy positively. Last week, Vice-Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Hassan Aboutorabi-Fard underlined the positive outcome of sanctions and pressures on Iranian economy and oil sector, saying that pressures and embargos pave the way for Iran to end its dependence in oil revenues. ˈOur enemies helped us today and we managed to cut Iranˈs dependence on oil revenues in a short time which is a great development in the countryˈs economy,ˈ Aboutorabi said, addressing a meeting in the holy city of Mashhad. ˈOne of the problems that we were facing for a century was reliance on oil revenues,ˈ he added. Many Iranian officials believe that the Westˈs ban on Iranian oil supplies will help Iranian economy end its dependence on oil revenues. Washington and its Western allies accuse Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons under the cover of a civilian nuclear program, while they have never presented any corroborative evidence to substantiate their allegations. Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes only. Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down Westˈs calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment./end
