Georgia's foreign trade turnover with EU countries increases by 20% in Jan.-Oct.

Georgia, Tbilisi, Nov. 26 / Trend N.Kirtskhalia / In January-October, Georgia's foreign trade turnover with the European Union countries amounted to $2.333 million. This figure exceeded the figure in the same period last year by 20 per cent, the Georgian Statistics Service told Trend on Monday. Exports totaled $302 million (a 3-percent increase), imports - $2.031 million (a 25-percent increase). In general, share of the EU countries in Georgia's trade turnover hit 27 percent, including in exports - 15, and in imports - 31 percent. In January-October 2011, this figure was respectively 26, 16 and 29 percent. The EU countries accounted for 38 percent of the trade deficit (33 percent in January-October 2011).
