Gulf Air marks 40 years of successful Cyprus operations

Manama: May 19 (BNA): Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has marked 40 years of successful direct flights to and the city of Larnaca, Cyprus. Over the last four decades, Gulf Air has been regularly carrying passengers to and from the idyllic island located in the eastern Mediterranean. Since 1976, Cyprus has been a major destination for Gulf Air and this year marks the airline’s celebrations of four decades of successful operations. Whether travelling for business, leisure or tourism, Gulf Air passengers can partake in the superior services and products on offer by the airline – complementing the variety of tourism and leisure activities in Larnaca. Gulf Air’s direct five weekly flights to and from Larnaca International Airport depart Bahrain on Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Boasting one of the largest Middle East networks with double daily flights or more to 10 regional cities, Bahrain’s national carrier is well positioned to link the Gulf region and Cyprus with excellent connectivity via Bahrain International Airport in less than 90 minutes. Located on the Mediterranean, Larnaca is the entry point for most visitors to Cyprus, one of the world's most fascinating melting pots of civilisations. The island country boasts of ancient historical sites infused with Greek mythology and a landscape that includes all of: beautiful sandy beaches, pine scented mountains and quaint villages that have stood the passage of time. To mark the special anniversary, Gulf Air and the Cyprus Tourism Organisation invited media representatives from across the Gulf region to take part in a press trip to Cyprus earlier this month. The group was led by the airline’s Manager Communications & Sponsorships Talal Al Mahmood.
