iCAM To Start Intake For MBA Programme By Mid-2013

KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 (Bernama) -- The International College of Automotive (iCAM) plans to start its first intake for the Masters in Business Administration (MBA) programme by mid-2013. This follows the signing of its Licensed Programme Agreement with Multimedia University (MMU)here on Monday. Under the agreement, MMU will conduct the 18-month MBA programme on a full-time basis at iCAM in Pekan, in Peninsular malaysia's east coast state of Pahang. iCAM is a member of the nation's leading automotive player, DRB-HICOM Bhd. HICOM University College Sdn Bhd Chief Operating Officer Sharifah Halimah Syed Ahmad said the group is eyeing 20 students for the first registration. "The main objective of this collaboration is to expedite the process of upgrading iCAM towards becoming a university college, whilst providing a platform for it to upgrade the qualifications of its academic staff," she told a press conference after the signing ceremony Monday. She also said the group plans to offer the MBA programme to DRB-HICOM staff in the Klang Valley. On the progress of iCAM's new campus, she said the group has started the ground works, to be completed by the end of this month. "We are targeting the facilities and main buildings, comprising of the business buildings, administration, engineering blocks, innovation centre and the student centre, to be ready by mid-2013," she added. iCAM also signed Monday a memorandum of understanding with Infor Global Solutions (KL) Sdn Bhd for the provision of Infor10 ERP Enterprise LN software, a system deployed for the automotive industry. Infor Asia Pacific South General Manager and Regional Managing Director David Hope said the software would be used as a teaching tool for iCAM's Diploma in Enterprise Resource Planning. -- BERNAMA
