Iran to boost daily jet fuel output by 450,000 liters
TEHRAN,Dec.28(MNA) -- Iran launched a new jet fuel production unit in western Kermanshah Oil Refinery which has the capacity to produce 450,000 liters of the product per day.
Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeighami made the announcement in an interview with the Mehr news agency, adding that the jet fuel output will meet needs of the country’s western provinces and its surplus can be exported to the neighboring countries.
Iran inked a deal with Afghanistan on Monday to export up to one million tons of oil products, including jet fuel, to the neighboring country.
Gas oil will account for 70 percent of the exports, while gasoline and jet fuel will account for 20 percent and 10 percent, respectively.
The managing director of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, Jalil Salari, has said that the neighboring countries, as well as the East Asian countries have declared their readiness to buy Iranian jet fuel.
Iran started hiking up its jet fuel production capacity after U.S. President Barack Obama signed into law the toughest ever U.S. sanctions on Iran aimed at choking off Tehran's access to imports of refined petroleum products like jet fuel and curbing its access to the international banking system.
