Iran boosting exports to regional states: Iranian official

TEHRAN,Nov. 14 (MNA) – The deputy director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran announced that the country’s exports to the neighboring and regional countries have swelled greatly in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21-September 22). Reza Tofiqi said here on Sunday that Iran’s total exports to the neighboring countries of Pakistan, Afghanistan and Turkey have increased 34 percent compared to the same period last year. At the same time, the country’s exports to Arabian states have witnessed 24 percent growth, Tofiqi added. Iran’s exports to Jordan and Syria have surged 27 percent and 13 percent respectively in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, he further said. “Iran has exported total amount of 172.7 million dollars worth of goods to Ukraine, Russia and Belarus in the same period, which shows 50 percent growth in comparison to the same period last year”, the official noted. The Commonwealth of Independent States have imported 839 million dollars worth of goods from Iran, showing a 17 percent growth compared to the same period of last year.
