Iran Khodro to triple Samand production in Belarus

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) -- Iranian giant carmaker Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) is planning to triple Samand car output in its Belarus production line to 15,000 units annually, IKCO’s director for exports and international affairs said. “IKCO has decided to dispatch products to Belarus in semi-knocked down (SKD) forms, which would decrease production costs by 21 percent” Abdolazim Sa’dian added. The company intends to exports its products assembled in Belarus to the CIS countries, including Armenia, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan. IKCO, founded in 1962, is currently regarded as the biggest automaker in the Middle East.
