Japanese ambassador Maeda expresses interest in attracting investments to Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, Dec.11, 2019 /Kabar/. Meeting of Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Economy Sanjar Mukanbetov with Ambassador of Japan to Kyrgyzstan Shigeki Maeda took place on Dec.9, 2019, the press service of the Economy Ministry said. Sanjar Mukanbetov noted Kyrgyzstan’s Economy Ministry attaches great importance to the development and intensification of cooperation with Japan in such areas as trade, investment and entrepreneurship. During the meeting, the minister congratulated Shigeki Maeda on his appointment as Ambassador of Japan to the Kyrgyz Republic and wished him success in his further work. The economy minister also thanked the ambassador for the successful implementation of the 3rd Phase of the joint project with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) One Village-One Product in dissemination Issyk-Kul model to other regions, which is aimed at involving women in the production of local products in regions. In order to create conditions for the development of economic relations, the sides reached an agreement on the promotion of international cooperation in trade, tourism, education, etc. At the same time, Ambassador Maeda expressed interest in attracting investments in the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as in familiarizing representatives of the business environment of Japan with the priority sectors of the Kyrgyz economy. The meeting participants expressed hope that constructive approaches of the sides to solving all issues of bilateral cooperation will allow to find mutually acceptable solutions in all key areas on the basis of friendship and mutual understanding.
