Malaysian ICT Delegation To Vietnam Generates Sales Of US$44.31 Million

KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 (Bernama) -- A Specialised Marketing Mission on Information Communications and Technology (ICT) to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, generated US$44.31 million (RM140.1 million) in total sales. Led by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the four-day mission from May 23, saw the participation of 27 companies, as well as the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) and Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia (TeAM). In a statement Monday, MATRADE said the mission comprised business matching sessions and roundtable discussions between Malaysian and Vietnamese companies. "Among business opportunities identified during the mission were in e-Government, Healthcare Cloud Computing Services, Virtual Network Operator Solutions, Credit Management and Customer Relationship Management Software, Online Payment Gateway System, Financial Management, Event Management System, Mobile content and Application, as well as Asset Management System," it said. Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Minh Hong, who officiated the Malaysia–Vietnam ICT Forum, said cooperation between the two countries would help raise each other's strength and competitiveness in the global market. MATRADE said participation in the mission had enabled the Malaysian ICT companies to familiarise themselves with the business environment and leverage on Vietnam's high growth ICT market. "It has opened opportunities for collaboration between Malaysian and Vietnamese companies in software and ICT related services while promoting exports of Malaysian software and ICT services to Vietnam along with strengthening business networks," it added.
