Malaysian Re-elected as ACI Asia-Pacific President

KUALA LUMPUR, May 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) Managing Director Bashir Ahmad has been unanimously re-elected for the second term as President of the Airports Council International (ACI) Asia-Pacific. He was appointed during the ACI Regional Assembly meeting held on Wednesday in Singapore. In a statement on Thursday, MAHB said in this capacity, Bashir also sits in the ACI World Executive Committee Meeting apart from being a member of the World Governing Board, the highest decision making body in the ACI organisation. ACI is the only global trade representative of the world’s airports. Being the "Voice of the World's Airports", the organisation speaks on behalf of 1,679 airports in 177 countries and territories worldwide including over 500 airports in the Asia-Pacific region. Bashir is currently leading the 7th ACI Asia Pacific Regional Assembly and Conference being held at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, Singapore, it added. --BERNAMA
