Malaysia's First LNG Re-Gasification Terminal Reaches Mechanical Completion Stage

KUALA LUMPUR, June 4 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) re-gasification facility, developed by Petronas gas processing and transmission arm, Petronas Gas Bhd (PGB), has reached mechanical completion stage. In a statement on Monday, PGB said it was currently progressing ahead with the preparation to commission the project for commercial operation scheduled for August. The project, known as Re-gasification Terminal, is located in Sungai Udang, Melaka. Meanwhile, executive vice president of Petronas gas and power division, Anuar Ahmad, said the first cargo supply would come from Petronas' own plant in Bintulu, Sarawak. "Cargo from our own plant has been committed on a long term," he told a press conference in conjunction with the 25th World Gas Conference here on Monday. -- BERNAMA
