Minister receives Huawei officialsManama, Dec. 30 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Mirza received Huawei Regional Chief Executive Officer Paul Fengnan. He was accompanied by a number of company officials. Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) Executive Vice President of Distribution and Customer Services Adnan Fakhroo was present. The minister was briefed on the activities and projects of Huawei in various fields, especially their projects in the digital transmission systems in the operation of smart meters and smart lighting as well as solar energy. The company’s desire to open areas of joint cooperation with the EWA was also discussed. The minister gave the visitors a presentation on the projects of the Sustainable Energy Unit, including the National Energy Efficiency Plan, the National Energy Plan, and some important projects in renewable energy, such as the 100 MW solar power project. He also praised the company's efforts in the fields of technology, communications and energy and welcomed the opening of cooperation opportunities with local and international companies specialized in these fields. The visitors thanked the minister and officials for their warm welcome and cooperation in fields of mutual interest.
