More Than 100 Company Directors To Attend International Directors Summit

KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- More than 100 directors are expected to participate in the upcoming International Directors Summit 2012, to be held here from May 21-22. The two-day summit will be launched by Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah. Aimed at helping local directors become more entrepreneurial and more aggressive in the global arena, the summit's theme will be "Awakening the Corporate Entrepreneurship for High Income Economy". It is being jointly organised by the Malaysian Directors Academy (MINDA) and Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (ASLI). MINDA Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director Abdul Aziz Abu Bakar said the summit would feature experienced speakers from Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Indonesia and India. "With this sharing of experience, we hope the event can change the mindset of local directors to be more entrepreneurial and more aggressive in the global arena," he told a press conference on Friday. ASLI Chief Executive Officer, Dr Michael Yeoh, said the organisation of the event was timely as the country itself was undergoing a transformation. "We want to provide an additional dimension for companies to learn how to grow, how to expand further in difficult times as well as to network and exchange ideas with one another," he added. --BERNAMA
