"No Way A Foreign Firm Can Gain Control Of Felda Global"

JERANTUT (Pahang, Malaysia), April 7 (Bernama) -- There is no possibility of a foreign company gaining control of Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (FGVH) at any time because the percentage of shares offered to them is small, said Felda Group chairman, Isa Abdul Samad. He said it was impossible because Felda Investment Cooperative(KPF) would become the biggest shareholder in FGVH other than government investment firms like Permodalan Nasional Bhd, Tabung Haji and the Employees Provident Fund, which would also be offered the shares. "Only a small percentage of the shares will be offered to foreign firms to participate and help us in our business in time to come," he told a media briefing after meeting the Felda Jengka Region's settlers' at Felda Kota Gelanggi 1 here on Saturday. Isa said Felda has decided on the percentage of shares to be offered to KPF, investment institutions and state governments. He said Felda was in the final stage to select suitable foreign companies to be alloted the FGVH shares. Isa said settlers who were members of KPF and those who opposed the listing of FGVH on Bursa Malaysia would be offered the shares. -- BERNAMA
