North Sulawesi Exports 10 Tonnes Of Mace

Manado, N Sulawesi, Aug 24 (ANTARA) - North Sulawesi province on Wednesday exported ten tonnes of mace (nutmeg flowers) to the Netherlands worth US$183 thousand, a local trade official said. The mace export to the Netherlands indicated that the financial crisis in the European region has yet to affect commodity exports, at least mace, head of the provincial industry and trade office Sanny Parengkuan said here on Thursday. "Indeed some exporters worry about the world financial crisis that will affect the purchasing power of the people in various countries including in Europe, but the condition is still favorable for North Sulawesi`s export,"Sanny said. According to him, a factor that makes North Sulawesi able to maintain its export is that this province mostly exports food products that are needed by the people.
