Omni Mal To Introduce Powdered Dates Health Drink

By Mohd Razman Abdullah KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 (Bernama) -- Omni Mal Agencies Sdn Bhd is set to introduce its latest product, a powdered dates health drink. The company is the biggest in the east coast involved in the repackaging of dates. Managing director, Chua Hock Tee said the company is the final stage of developing the product, and it will be the first powered dates juice to be produced by a local manufacturer in Malaysia. He said the product will be introduced at the Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2012 (MIHAS 2012) from April 4-7 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC). "The powdered drink product has the nutritional value of dates as we have maintained this without any preservatives," he told Bernama. Chua said Omni Mal took the step to introduce the new product as it was committed to the benefits of dates and the company was now looking to export 43 of its products, after having secured the Halal certification on March 18 from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). Omni Mal, which is based in Pengkalan Chepa was established in 1999, as an international trading company to import quality products from the Middle East and vacuum packed without any preservatives based on Islamic principles. The company has to date, a sales network of more than 400 at various supermarkets throughout the country. -- BERNAMA
