Palm Oil Expo Set To Clinch US$85 Million Business Deals

By Jailani Hassan LABUAN (Malaysia), March 20 (Bernama) -- Following the success of the previous two international palm oil exhibitions, the third edition of Palm Oil Exhibition Malaysia 2012 (Palmex Malaysia 2012) is all set for launch in Sandakan, Sabah. Jerel Soo, Managing Director of Fireworks Events (M) Sdn Bhd, the event organiser, told Bernama on Tuesday that the previous exhibition managed to close business transactions of more than US$80 million during the three-day trade fair. The 3rd edition of Palmex Malaysia, to be held on May 23-25, 2012, is expected to host more than 3,500 local and international participants from the Philippines, China, Pakistan, America, Korea, Japan, Indonesia and Nigeria. “We are expecting more than US$85 million worth of business deals to be closed during the event. With exhibitors from China, Germany, India, Korea, Malaysia, US, UK and Singapore, this international exhibition will feature more than 100 quality exhibitors showcasing the latest technology in palm oil industry,” he said. Highlights at the event include a high-profile palm oil conference themed "Green Technology for SMEs" on the first day at Sabah Hotel, with over 100 confirmed attendees, a palm oil refinery visit for invited guests at IOI Corporation and Wilmar on the second day, “Palm Oil Networking Night”, with exhibitors and invited key guests from the upstream oil palm companies for business and networking matching on the second night of the event. Big players of the palm oil industry such as FELDA, IOI, Sawit Kinabalu (M) Sdn Bhd, Sumitomo, SKF Malaysia Sdn Bhd, YKL Engineering and Muar Ban Lee Bhd would be showcasing their latest products and also organising their own specialised technical seminars during the event for interested visitors. There are also exhibitors from other categories such as palm kernel oil expeller, empty fruit bunch machinery, soil stabilisation, soil road sealant, valves, bio-technology, palm oil chain, wastewater, and dewatering pumps and bearings. Palmex Malaysia 2012 is Malaysia’s largest palm oil technology showcase and it is scheduled to be held at Sandakan Community Hall, Sandakan, Sabah.
