Pangkalpinang Launches Four Tourist Destination Lanes

Pangkalpinang, Jan 31 (ANTARA) - Pangkalpinang, the capital city of the Bangka Belitung Archipelago Province, has launched four tourist destination lanes. "We have launched four tourist destination lanes to develop the tourism industry in Indonesia," said a spokesperson for the Pangkalpinang culture and tourism office, Ahmad Elvian, on Thursday. The four tourist destination lanes in Pangkalpinang connect the Bangka Botanical Gardens, the Pasir Padi Beach, the Tung Fong Miaw Tong Temple, the Tanjung Bunga Beach and the Shen Mu Miaw Temple. There are a number of historical places in Pangkalpinang that are popular tourist destinations too. They are the Wilhelmina Park, the Hollandsche European School, the Tin Museum, the Maranatha Church, the Kwan Tie Miaw Temple, the Boen Men Chiew Tomb, the Maria Yung Fo Cave, and the Kerkhof Dutch Cemetery. In Pangkalpinang, there are four sports complexes - the Depati Amir Stadium, the Bukit Baru Sports Centre, the Girimaya Golf Course and the Depati Bahrein Sports Centre. For those who want to learn more about Pangkalpinangs culture, they can visit 13 tourist destinations, including Kampung Melayu Tuatunu, the Akek Bandang Tomb, and the Perigi Pekasem Sacred Well. Elvian explained that until now, the number of tourists visiting Pangkalpinang has not been constant, making it difficult for the government to develop the tourism industry. "These tourist destination lanes will allow the government to manage the tourism industry efficiently. This way, the tourism industry can contribute to the countrys economic growth," he said. Meanwhile, the Deputy Mayor of Pangkalpinang, Malikul Amjad, said he is happy with the development of four tourist destination lanes. "With the establishment of tourist destination lanes, we hope that tourists will find it easier to navigate around the region. When they visit Pangkalpinang, they will be able to appreciate the local culture," he said. The vice mayor also reminded the tourism office to coordinate with third parties to develop Pangkalpinangs tourism industry. The tourism office has to work closely with other stakeholders to develop the tourism industry," he said.
