PEMUDAH Remains Steadfast In Quest To Help Country's Businesses

KUALA LUMPUR, July 13 (Bernama) -- The Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (PEMUDAH), established in 2007, remains steadfast in its quest to change mindsets of businessness to compete at a higher level, said former Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi. Speaking at PEMUDAH's appreciation dinner for former Chief Secretary to the Government, Mohd Sidek Hassan, Abdullah said the world was a competitive place, whilst the country a relatively small trading nation and the key to the challenge was in getting the public and private sector to work harmoniously in tandem. Meanwhile, the new Chief Secretary to the Government, Dr Ali Hamsa said PEMUDAH has evolved under Mohd Sidek's reign, into a powerful driving engine to provide real solutions for the people at large. "Under his leadership, the special task force broke away from just focusing on improving Malaysia's ranking in World Bank Doing Business Report, to tackling daily issues affectig the people," he said in his speech. --BERNAMA
