PetroTech-2012 Confab, Exhibition Starts In New Delhi

New Delhi, Oct 15, IRNA - 10th International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition ‘Petrotech-2012’ kicked off Sunday at the Exhibition Ground in New Delhi.
India’s Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Jaipal Reddy, inaugurated the four-day event, organized by Indian Oil Corporation under the aegis of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The theme of the conference is `Hydrocarbon and Beyond: Changing Landscape’.
The event which was inaugurated in the presence of Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Corporate Affairs, R.P.N. Singh and the Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, G.C. Chaturvedi, was also attended by energy ministers of several countries including Kenya, Russia, Republic of Mauritius and Seychelles.
Singh said that the exhibition showcases developments and achievements of the energy companies. He added that the exchange of ideas will lead to cleaner, greener and a safer planet.
The inauguration event also saw the release of three books, which focused on the hydrocarbon sector and its accomplishments.
The PetroTech series of International Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibitions is a biennial platform for national and international experts in the oil & gas industry to exchange views and share knowledge, expertise and experiences. The event also aims to explore areas of growth in petroleum technology, exploration, drilling, production and processing, refining, pipeline, transportation, petrochemicals, natural gas, LNG, petroleum trade, economics, legal and human resource development, marketing, research & development, information technology, safety, health and environment management in the oil & gas sector.
The conference is expected to attract over 4000 delegates from all over the world, including scientists, engineers, technocrats, environmentalists and entrepreneurs./end
