PGN Wins Annual Report Award

Jakarta, Sept 19 (ANTARA) - State gas company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) has emerged as an overall winner of 2011 Annual Report Award (ARA) after besting 100 participants. "The overall winner of 2011 ARA is PT Perusahaan Gas Negara," Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said during 2011 ARA themed "information transparency as part of efforts to apply the concept of clean and integrated companies to increase their competitive edge" here on Tuesday night. Agus said he was pleased that the number of ARA participants continued to increase, suggesting that more and more companies had committed themselves to apply good corporate governance (GCG). "I am happy that we have organized ARA 11 times. Congratulate you on having won the award. Those who have not yet won it should not feel discouraged. Take a lesson from the past experience. Indonesia has received investment grade ratings. Don`t forget to apply prudential principles and GCG. Despite the global difficulties, our economy is improving, our banking system is healthy, our capital market is growing and investment is increasing. In the second quarter investment grew 28 percent," he said. Yet Indonesia must remain watchful for the global economic slowdown which had affected the country`s exports, he said. In general, Indonesia`s portfolio was still good and its balance of payment was manageable, he said.
