Pos Malaysia Unveils Prepaid "Pos Laju" To Tap Growing Online Trade

SHAH ALAM (Selangor, Malaysia), April 7 (Bernama) -- Pos Malaysia Bhd on Saturday unveiled its prepaid envelopes and boxes for its Pos Laju courier service to tap the growing online trading in Peninsular Malaysia. Its group chief executive officer, Khalid Abdol Rahmad, said the prepaid boxes and envelopes would cater to the demand from online businesses in terms of providing convenient and cost-efficient shipping solutions. "The Prepaid Poslaju will help online business entrepreneurs ensure that their courier cost is not under- or over-charged to their customers. "Online business is booming worldwide and for the Malaysian market, it is expected to grow within the next three years," he told a media briefing here on Saturday. Khalid said the items could be purchased at over 300 points of sales in Peninsular Malaysia including 156 selected Pos Malaysia outlets and 48 Pos Laju centres in Peninsular Malaysia. He said Pos Malaysia planned to expand the prepaid Pos Laju services to Sabah and Sarawak by the third quarter of this year. Currently, he said, Pos Laju has 29 per cent share of the domestic courier market. "We see the growing popularity of smaller packaging business and Pos Laju is grabbing the increasing potential market share by developing small packaging for online traders," he said. -- BERNAMA
