PTT group to open training center for petroleum personnel

BANGKOK, September 28 (TNA) - PTT Public Company Limited (PTT), Thailand's largest petroleum firm, plans to open a new training center for the petroleum sector to increase the supply of human resources in the sector in the country. Sukrit Surabotsopon, President of IRPC Public Company Limited (IRPC), a subsidiary of PTT, told journalists on September 27 that a huge investment fund of about 1.5-2.0 billion baht will be mobilized from the PTT group to soon construct the new training center for petroleum personnel, especially those of oil refinery and petrochemical businesses, in an IRPC plot of land in Rayong Province in the Thai East. Sukrit noted that personnel trained at the new PTT group's center will particularly serve petroleum businesses opened at the Thai government-supported Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Project. "The PTT group foresees that it's a need to invest in the training center to avoid the problem of personnel shortages in the Thai petroleum sector in the future, especially those in oil refinery and petrochemical businesses", the IRPC president explained. Besides, the PTT group plans to open another learning center on the alternative energy in the same IRPC area, scheduled to be launched over the next couple of years, with an additional investment fund of over 100 million baht.
