Qatargas Celebrates 15 Years of Accomplishments

Doha, February 19 (QNA) - Qatargas celebrated with its employees for success and achievements during the annual dinner ceremony , which was held over two nights at the Qatar National Convention Centre. A press release said today, that the ceremony was attended by Director General of the company HE Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and a group of department managers and senior officials, the ceremony was held under the slogan "Together We Celebrate 15 Years of Achievements", which symbolizes the passage of 15 years since the first export shipment of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) from Qatar gas and Qatar to Japan in January 1997. The ceremony was opened by HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Thani, who extended deep thanks to the staff of the company from their dedication to work and their leading role to the realizing of its achievements and success, saying "We will go forward in the march of success and achievements under the guidance of HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatargas, and the support of Qatar Petroleum and our other partners. " He briefly reviewed the achievements of the company in 2011 in all aspects of its operations, including the putting the production line No. 7 on operation and the completion of 8 years of operations without time-wasting accidents and the deliveries of natural gas (LNG) to Netherlands, Greece and Thailand. Qatargas established in 1984, pioneered the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry in Qatar. Today, under the guidance and directives of HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, Qatargas is the largest LNG producer in the world, with an annual LNG production capacity of 42 million tons per annum is realizing its vision to deliver LNG to its customers around the globe, from its world-class facilities in Qatar.
