QICCA: Qatar's Legislations in Recent Years Contribute to Advancing Development

Doha, October 12 (QNA) - HE Sheikh Dr. Thani bin Ali bin Saud Al-Thani, a Board Member of Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration at Qatar Chamber, stressed that the legislation and laws issued by the State of Qatar in recent years have enhanced the business environment and investment climate in the country and contributed to advancing the wheel of economic development. His Excellency said, in statements today on the sidelines of the opening session of Qatar Business Law Forum Conference 2022 - 7th edition, that these legislations and laws also contributed to attracting more foreign capital in various sectors, as well as achieving a balance between the privileges and incentives granted by the state to investors and their duties towards the state and the market. He added that the Qatar Business Law Forum Conference 2022, in which the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration participates as a strategic sponsor, comes at a time when the economic sectors in the country are preparing to receive the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and therefore it represents an opportunity to discuss economic laws and their role in facilitating the business environment in the country and its relationship with trade and its reflection on the business and supporting efforts to transform Qatar into a global economic and commercial center. He stressed the Center's keenness to provide strategic sponsorship for the forum's work, which contributes to the introduction of new ideas in the fields of business and deals with legal developments in Qatar. The forum, organized by LexisNexis Law Firm in strategic partnership with the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration and the Ministry of Trade and Industry, will discuss several themes related to foreign investment laws, dispute resolution and mediation mechanisms. It also addresses the latest developments and legal trends in Qatar, through four sessions that discuss: International investments, mergers and acquisitions and compliance, dispute settlement, business laws and The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
