Rise in passenger traffic at Suvarnabhumi Airport during Chinese New Year

SAMUT PRAKAN, Jan 26 (TNA) – Suvarnabhumi Airport greets travellers with special treat during the Chinese New Year festival, during which the number of passengers is expected to rise. Executive Vice President of Suvarnabhumi Airport Chadanisa Chumnanvej on Thursday led the airport staff, clad in traditional Chinese attire to give orange- shaped soaps to passengers, arriving from Shanghai, China with the Thai Airways aircraft, TG 633. Oranges is one of the fruits, representing good luck in Chinese culture. Besides offering soaps, Chinese fan dance was performed to entertain passengers at the airport. During the Chinese New Year festival from Jan 23 to Feb 5, 17 airlines requested increase of 345 domestic and international flights. The airport will process 14,132 flights in total or 1,009 flights a day during this 14-day period and handle about 2.53 million passengers or 181,205 passengers daily. (TNA)
