Robina Flooring Aims To Expand Presence In Qatar

From Mohd Khairi Idham Amran DOHA (Qatar), May 2 (Bernama) -- Robina Flooring Sdn Bhd, South-East Asia's largest laminated flooring manufacturer, aims to expand its presence in Qatar through its participation in Malaysia Services Exhibition 2012 (MSE 2012). Sales and marketing executive, S. Siva Kumaran, said MSE 2012 provided a good opportunity for the company to promote its products in the rapidly-developing country to cater to the World Cup 2022. "We are targeting residential projects in Qatar but our distributor in the country has also been bidding for apartment and hotel projects here," he told reporters at the MSE 2012 here Wednesday. The MSE 2012, from April 30-May 3, is held concurrently with the Ninth International Construction, Building, Environmental Technology and Materials Exhibition. Fifty-nine companies are participating in the exhibition to showcase Malaysian services and products. He said the company has been in Qatar since early this year, its seventh market in the Middle East after United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran and Lebanon. The region contributed about 15 per cent of the company's annual revenue and was among the biggest markets after the Malaysia and South-East Asia. Siva said the company also aimed to penetrate Oman, Nigerian and Tanzanian markets this year. Robina Flooring, the winner of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry's Industrial Excellence Award 2011 for best products category, exports to 40 countries. Its plant in Temerloh Industrial Park, Mentakab in Pahang state has the capacity to produce five million sq metres of laminated flooring per year. --BERNAMA
