MOSCOW, April 21. /TASS/. Russian mechanical engineering company Sinara is discussing manufacturing of high-speed trains in Russia with the Chinese partners, a source familiar with the course of negotiations said on Tuesday. "The HSR [Moscow-Kazan High Speed Railway - TASS] is the case in point. Sinara may take part as the manufacturer [of high-speed trains - TASS]," he said. Another source confirmed the fact of Sinara’s negotiations with the Chinese side. According to sources, Sinara’s Chairman of the Board Dmitry Pumpyanskiy is currently in China for the purpose of discussing potential manufacturing. Sinara is a diversified holding company dealing with transport mechanical engineering, financial services, and development. The Moscow-Kazan High Speed Railway’s total length will stand at around 770 kilometers. Trains may go at a speed of 350-400 kilometers per hour, and the time en route between the two cities could be 3-3.5 hours against the current 14 hours. The Moscow-Kazan railroad may later be extended to China, connecting the two countries across Kazakhstan. The transport scheme could become part of the route of a new Silk Road project, which is aimed at tying China with the European and Middle Eastern markets. Read more
