Sabah Govt Financial Reserves At US$2.8 Billion, Best Ever

KOTA KINABALU (Sabah, Malaysia), June 30 (Bernama) -- East Malaysia state of Sabah's financial standing at RM3 billion (US$2.833 billion) is the best ever under the leadership of Chief Minister Musa Aman, says Sabah Special Affairs Department (Jasa) Director Abdul Manap Lakariba. He said Sabah also received praises from the Auditor-General for its prudent state budget management. "What is evident is that the Chief Minister (Musa), who was well experienced in the corporate world before he entered politics, has been able to take Sabah's financial status to greater heights and bring rapid development to the state," he told school principals from Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, during a briefing here Friday night. Musa presented a state budget of RM4.048 billion (US$1.3 billion) for 2012, making it the biggest budget ever proposed in the history of Sabah, one of the two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo, with overall focus on improving the state's well being and prosperity. -- BERNAMA
