Says.com Listed In A WorldBlu List Of Most Democratic Workplaces

KUALA LUMPUR, April 10 (Bernama) -- SAYS.com, a local media company, has been certified by WorldBlu as among 48 organisations in the sixth annual WorldBlu List of Most Democratic Workplaces 2012. Joining the ranks of well known companies are Zappos.com, Namaste Solar, Menlo Innovations, the WD-40 Company and two other Malaysian companies, MindValley and STATSIT. "WorldBlu-certified organisations model how democracy in the workplace unleashes human potential and helps build world-class organisations that change the world for the better. "People want freedom rather than fear in the workplace," WorldBlu Founder and Chief Executive Officer Traci Fenton said in a statement on Tuesday. At SAYS.com, employees write their own job descriptions with team members and leaders, resulting in a continuous flow of "micro-innovations" and opportunities for new talents to emerge. Besides that, key decisions at SAYS.com are not made by the chief executive officer or team leaders alone, but via in-house processes to ensure everyone has a chance to contribute inputs. "SAYS.com understands the importance of free and open communication, creating an environment that attracts a dynamic workforce and maximises each individual's talent," said Fenton. Meanwhile, SAYS.com Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder Khailee Ng said great ideas can come from any individual in the company and a democratic workplace allows a seamless flow of ideas to be organised and realised. "One of our most successful projects came from an intern who single-handedly kick-started a project that is now a case study of cause-related social media marketing done right," he added. SAYS.com is a media company consisting of 360,000 Malaysians who help over 70 leading advertisers to engage Malaysia's Facebook and Twitter generation. -- BERNAMA
