Singapore Firms Invited To Explore Business Opportunities In Kazakhstan

By Tengku Noor Shamsiah Tengku Abdullah SINGAPORE, April 16 (Bernama) -- Kazakhstan Minister of Foreign Affairs Yerzhan Kazykhanov has invited Singapore companies to explore business opportunities in the country. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Kazykhanov called on President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the Istana (Palace) Monday. During their meetings with Kazykhanov, Tan and Lee noted the warm and friendly relations between Singapore and Kazakhstan. Kazykhanov updated the Singapore leaders on the economic developments business opportunities available in the country. On Sunday, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law, K Shanmugam hosted dinner for Kazykhanov. Both ministers agreed that there was scope to further strengthen bilateral relations including economic links and people-to-people ties. They also had a useful exchange of views on developments in Central Asia and Southeast Asia. -- BERNAMA
