Siregar As New Investment Coordinating Board Chairman

Jakarta, Oct 1 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has inaugurated Mahendra Siregar as the new chairman of the Investment Coordinating Board, replacing Chatib Basri, who is now the Minister for Finance. Earlier, Mahendra was the Vice Minister for Finance. In addition, the Indonesia University graduate was the Vice Minister for Trade in 2009. "Mahendra has strong international networks. He is the right man for this job," said Chatib Basri, adding that the role of the Investment Coordinating Board is going to be more important than ever as Indonesia needs foreign direct investments amid the economic slowdown.
