SOCAR conducts exploratory well drilling in Caspian Sea

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 19 / Trend, E.Ismayilov / The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) conducts drilling of an exploratory well at the Bulla-Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, Azneft Production Unit of SOCAR said. According to the report, the well will be drilled in order to test oil and gas content of the seventh horizon of reservoir at the offshore field. "The project depth of the well is 5,800 meters, at present its depth is 4,900 meters," the report says. The Bulla-Deniz field is located at 80 kilometers south from Baku, and it was opened in 1975. The sea depth at the field ranges from 5 to 30 meters. SOCAR has also started interpretation of data derived from the processing of a number of profiles under the current two-dimensional seismic survey in Eldaroyugu Boyuk Palanteken section. The section is a part of Kur-Gabyrry interfluvial oil and gas area. Integrated geophysical work is carried out in the section in order to study its geological structure, predict oil and gas content. SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (company producing oil and gas onshore and offshore) and the Azkimya production association (chemical industry) and Azerigaz production association (gas distribution). In addition, SOCAR includes a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations. Do you have any feedback?
