SOCAR investments in Georgia total nearly $150 million in 7 years

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 2 / Trend E.Ismayilov / In 2006-2012, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum, a subsidiary of SOCAR Energy Georgia (represents SOCAR in Georgia and sells petroleum products),invested 149.7 million dollars in Georgia, according to a statement released by the State Oil Company. According to the report, in 2012, the company opened eight stations in Georgia. Thus, the total number of stations operating in Georgia under the SOCAR brand has reached 100. Last year, the subsidiaries of SOCAR in Georgia paid nearly $165.35 million to the state budget. Along with the sale of petroleum products, SOCAR also distributes natural gas in Georgia.
