Spanish Entrepreneurs Ready To Deal Business With Indonesians
London, Nov 26 (ANTARA) - The Spanish entrepreneurs have expressed their readiness to deal business with those of Indonesia through trade and investment opportunities as the latter`s economic indicator is now one of the best in the Asian region, an Indonesian diplomat said.
A counselor of the Indonesian embassy in Madrid, Theodorus Satrio Nugroho told Antara on Monday that the Spanish businessmen expressed their wish for such economic cooperation through a seminar entitled "Indonesia: Consolidated Democracy and Locomotive Economy in Asia",
The seminar was held by the Indonesian embassy in Madrid in cooperation with Casa Asia, an agency under the auspices of the Spanish foreign affairs ministry that promotes the Spanish cooperation with the Asian countries.
The seminar regarding the Indonesian political and economic perspectives was participated in by some 200 people mostly entrepreneurs, the Spanish foreign ministry`s officials, parliament members, including academicians.
According to Nugroho, the seminar featured among other things Dr. Rizal Sukma, executive director of CSIS Jakarta and Dr. Javir Gil Perez, lecturer of the Comillas university in Madrid.
Rizal Sukma during the seminar explained about the Indonesian democratic condition following the 1998 reform, where the democracy is more robust with major participation of the people and the press.
Meanwhile, Indonesian ambassador to Spain, Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, explained although Spain is still facing the economic crisis, Indonesia should continue promoting its economic potentials.
In addition, Indonesia with around 51 million of its medium income-people which was increasing in the last ten years has led to the competitive domestic market.
