Tawazun and Turkey's Roketsan to co-develop Cirit missile system for UAE armed forces

Abu Dhabi, Feb 20, 103 (WAM) - Tawazun, the strategic investment firm focused on the long-term development of UAE's industrial manufacturing, and Roketsan, Turkey's leading defence manufacturer, have jointly signed a contract to supply UAE armed forces with the laser-guided Cirit missile systems. The contract comes on the heels of an arrangement, whereby the GHQ of the UAE armed forces had mandated Tawazun to supply the systems in order to meet the requirements for such systems and to contribute to the country's vision for technology transfer and industrial cooperation. Tawazun and Roketsan have defined a plan for development and co-production of the systems in the UAE. They will also work together to complete its full integration into the UAE armed forces' missile systems. - Emirates News Agency, WAM
