Tehran To Host ECO Ministerial Meeting

Tehran, March 4, IRNA – The third meeting of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) energy and oil ministers will be held in Tehran on Monday, March 4. The three-day meeting will focus on expansion of energy cooperation among member states. Established in 1985 by Iran, Pakistan and Turkey, ECO is an intergovernmental regional organization which provides a platform to promote economic, technical and cultural cooperation among member states. The organization was expanded in 1992 to include seven new members, including Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan./end
